The main character of the series, Seiya is one of the 88 saints of Athena. He appears as a 13-year old boy with red-brown hair. He is known for his temper and his perseverance in battle. Although not the greatest warrior, Seiya is hard to keep down and will always continue to fight the good fight. He also is the most immature of the Bronze Saints yet has the highest sense of duty and honor.
The highly intelligent and powerful Shiryu is a 14-year old boy with black hair and blue eyes. He is known for having a strong affection for his Bronze brothers and would sacrifice himself if it meant saving his fellow Saints. With maturity and wisdom, the Bronze Saints frequently look to Shiryu for guidance. He is a calm and peaceful boy, but is willing to fight for what he believes in.
Ikki is the most violent of the Bronze Saints and possesses a hot temper. Featuring less frequently than other Saints, Ikki is the older brother of Shun. He is overprotective of his younger brother and will always strive to protect him at any cost. A lone wolf, Ikki has trouble taking orders and often is found in solitude.
Shun is the polar opposite of his older brother Ikki. Unlike his violent brother, Shun is a pacifist who always avoids combat at all costs. Although he possesses great strength, Shun refuses to use his powers to his full potential. With green hair with blue-green eyes, the 13-year old is the kindest of all the Saints.
Hyuga, which translates into "ice river" or "glacier," has the power to control ice and water. He is the most tragic of the Bronze Boys. The death of everyone important in his life happened as a result of his actions and he lives with this weight on his shoulders. Although tormented by his past, Hyuga is a sociable character who can even calm the hot-headed Ikki. He is a tall, slender man with blond hair and blue eyes.
The Greek Goddess Athena commands an army of 88 saints to protect the world against the forces of evil. She reincarnates on Earth whenever evil begins to show too much power and in the series, Athena dons the persona Saori Kido. Due to her hatred of weapons and violence, the saints who protect her use the Cosmos armor and hand-to-hand combat to win their battles.
