How to Block TV Content

DirecTV

  Scan through your channels and write down the ones you wish to block.

  Press the "Menu" button on your DirecTV remote control.

  Select "Parental, Favs and Setup" from the menu.

  Select "Parental Controls" and click on "Edit Settings."

  Scroll to the channel you want to block, highlight it and press "Select." Do this with all the channels you want to block, then press "OK."

Cox Cable

  Write down the channels you want to block.

  Enable your PIN to prevent your child from making any changes. To do this, press the "Settings" button twice on your Cox remote. Use the arrows on the remote to highlight "Block: PIN." Press "Select," then highlight "Enable" and press select again. Enter a 4-digit PIN number twice and press "Enter." Now, you're ready to set up your parental controls.

  Press the "Settings" button on your Cox remote twice.

  Highlight the "Block: Channels" button again and press "Select" on your remote.

  Enter the PIN you just created. Use the arrows to scroll up and down to the channels you wish ti block. Highlight the channel you wish to block and press "Select". Press the "A" button on your remote to accept the changes when you're finished and then press "Exit."

Dish Network

  Open your Dish Network menu by choosing "Menu" on the remote control.

  Use the arrows to highlight "Locks" and press "Enter."

  Select "Channel Locks" to block certain channels.

  Scroll to the channel you wish to block, highlight it and press "Enter."

  Select "Done" when you are finished. Scroll to "Lock System" and press "Enter." This will save your changes. Highlight "Change Password" and press "Enter". Choose a 4-digit password your children won't be able to guess and press "OK."
