Who directed the movie sponge bob?

The first *SpongeBob SquarePants* movie, *The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie* (2004), was directed by Stephen Hillenburg.

However, the second *SpongeBob* movie, *The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water* (2015), was directed by Paul Tibbitt.

While Stephen Hillenburg created the character and the show, he was unfortunately not able to direct the second movie due to his illness.
