How to Compete on Iron Chef

Iron Chef has become a fan favorite all over the world and for good reason. Where else can you see top-class chefs battle it out for supremacy while getting to sample dishes like squid-ink ice cream and deep-fried truffles. To compete on Iron Chef, you have to be a true master in your profession and be able to cook under some very stressful conditions.

      Be a master chef. They won't let just anyone compete on Iron Chef. You have to be a proven leader in the field. Years and years of experience are a prerequisite to being on the show. And the more people you know, the more likely you'll be to get on the show.

      Start trouble. One of the easiest ways to get invited to compete on Iron Chef is to stir up a little trouble. Challenge one of the Iron Chefs to a cook-off, or tell someone in the media that you know you're better than the chefs on the show. If you make enough noise, you'll be invited to go on the show.

      Be flexible. In order to compete on Iron Chef, you need to be able to work with any ingredient. You should be able to think quickly and come up with dishes on the fly.

      Work quickly. Even the best chefs have trouble working under the time constraints of the show. To compete on Iron Chef and win, you have to learn how to prioritize and get your dishes completed and ready to present in time.

      Be creative. The producers of Iron Chef love to bring on new talent that will stretch the boundaries of cuisine, so be as innovative as possible with your dishes if you want to compete on Iron Chef.
