Shop around for a large facility with open spaces conducive to a professional training center. This building should have extensive electric and plumbing hookups to give owners the option of installing showers, locker rooms and offices.
Recruit one or two instructors with professional wrestling experience before investing heavily in your pro wrestling training center. These instructors should have experience in regional, national and international wrestling circuits to assure students that they are receiving elite direction.
Invest in free weights, stationary bikes and gym mats to add a fitness element to your training center. These fitness tools add value to your training center and provide convenience for students who would otherwise travel to traditional fitness centers for workouts (see Resources below).
Search for a qualified ring builder to produce wrestling rings for the training center. Most wrestling schools have a handful of rings to draw in a higher number of students per week. There are plenty of companies like Monster Rings and Cages with expertise in producing wrestling rings for training facilities and wrestling venues.
Obtain a business license through the city clerk before opening your training center for classes. Most cities will require health inspections as well as safety training for staff members before issuing business licenses to training centers.
Work with training and administrative staff to develop an overarching curriculum for your pro wrestling training center. This curriculum should address goals at each level of training, the importance of safety in the ring as well as behavioral expectations from students (see Resources below).
Target your Opening Day promotions to young males and parents who are interested in professional wrestling. Training center owners should buy advertising space in sports magazines and wrestling publications that are viewed by target demographics monthly. An owner can also target local wrestlers by advertising at wrestling matches, local fitness centers and colleges.
