How to Write a Movie Review About Erin Brockovich

Movie reviews are read by consumers who are either trying to decide whether or not to see a certain movie or check to see if the reviewer's opinion matched their own. A good movie review will get the feel and general plot of the movie conveyed well without revealing lots of spoilers. The movie "Erin Brockovich" is about a single, unemployed mother who becomes responsible for the downfall of a power company that is polluting the water supply. If you'd like to write your own review of the movie, you can do so using an organized and thorough method.

Instructions

    • 1

Watch the movie "Erin Brockovich" with as little distraction as possible in the background. Keep anything nearby that may keep you relaxed and able to enjoy the movie, like popcorn or a beverage.

    • 2

Keep a notebook and pen at the ready to record your opinions and notes of the important aspects of the movie, including acting, story structure, cinematography and lighting, and soundtrack.

    • 3

Read over your notes once the movie has ended and begin the review by introducing the title, genre, setting and stars. All of this information should be about one paragraph long.

    • 4

Write the second paragraph explaining the plot without revealing the ending or any major spoilers. Include your feelings on Erin's journey and Julia Robert's performance as you talk about the plot, as these were the two major reasons the film became so acclaimed and are things that the reader of the review would probably be curious to know.

    • 5

Spend the third paragraph describing the aspects of the movie that stuck out to you the most. This is where most of the notes you took during the movie will be used. If you feel as though you have a lot to say on the movie, you can make this section two paragraphs long.

    • 6

Wrap up the review with a paragraph that summarizes your final verdict on the movie. Include your opinion on the quality of the film.
