How to Convert Words Into Yoda Speak

For fans of the "Star Wars" film series, Yoda may be the greatest Jedi Master the universe has ever known. Yoda, the mysterious green alien recognized for his wisdom and light saber skills, is renowned for teaching generations of young Jedi everything they need to know to fight the dark side. Yoda is also known for his odd manner of speaking, in which he states the object of a sentence first, followed by the subject and the verb. Learning Yoda's speech mannerisms will allow you to talk just like this Jedi Master.

Instructions

    • 1

      Move the first two words of a sentence to the end of it. For instance, the sentence "We must go to the store" becomes "Go to the store, we must."

      Remove contractions from any words in the sentence, such as "won't," "isn't" or "can't." Move the negative words in the sentence to the end of it. For example, "I cannot talk now" becomes "Talk now, I cannot."

      Insert Yoda's trademark speech mannerisms into your speech. This includes a thoughtful "yes..." added to the end of a sentence, spoken slowly as if you are thinking about something. For instance, "Fight the enemy, we must, yes.."

      Say "hmmm?" at the end of a question. For example, "Thinking about going out, are you? Hmmm?"
