Watch the movie to decide which image you want. When deciding what image you would like to copy from a movie on a DVD, the simplest way is to use a computer movie software program. Standard software like Windows Media Player, Quicktime and RealOne allow you to easily view movies just by placing a DVD in the CD-ROM drive. You do not need a DVD-ROM drive to view DVDs but you do get a better quality image with them.
Now that the movie has started, go to the area of the film where you would like to capture an image. Ensure ]there is no blurring of the video due to the pausing, and hit the "Print Scrn" button, which is commonly located next to scroll lock at the top right of your keyboard. Some video player software also gives you the option to right-click the mouse on the video viewing area and chose capture or copy image. This will prevent you from having to crop out other areas of the photo.
The "Print Scrn" button simply took a snapshot of whatever was on your screen at the time it was pressed. This means when you open a photo editing program like Microsoft Paint, all you need to do is right click on the blank canvas and select paste. You can also hold down "Ctrl" and "V," which also acts as a paste command.
Use the crop tool to select the area you wish to keep. The crop tool will remove items like the frames of the program you were viewing the video in, so you just end up with the still picture from the movie. Once you have cropped the image, copy that image and open a new blank canvas.
Paste the final image onto the blank canvas and you will have the copied image from the DVD.
