Along with the recurring characters, Clamp anime focuses on certain themes. The group has said they like to write about the idea of soul mates and how danger causes more growth in young women than does love.
The core group of Clamp is comprises four women. Ageha Ohkawa creates the ideas and stories; Apapa Mokona focuses on character design; and Tsubaki Nekoi and Satsuki Iragashi work on backgrounds. They do, however, rotate roles to suit the publication or movie.
