"The Strangers," starring Scott Speedman and Liv Tyler, is one of the best scary movies for Halloween because it is a psychological horror story with a little guts and gore. The movie is about a couple, that seems to be in a bad place in their relationship and they are staying in an isolated vacation home during the movie. They are then terrorized in their home by three strangers. What makes this movie so scary is that the anticipation of what the "strangers" will do keep you on the edge of your seat. The strangers' faces are covered with masks, so you can’t tell what they look like when they are tormenting their victims. "The Strangers" is movie that is sure to scare everyone on Halloween.
"Saw" is one of the scariest movies to ever hit the big screen and is definitely one of the movies people should watch if they want to be scared on Halloween. "Saw" begins with two men chained in a room, with what appears to be a dead man lying between them. They are locked in the room, which is a derelict basement, by a serial killer known to the police as Jigsaw. "Saw" is so scary partly because it is gruesome, but also because it gets into your mind and you wonder what you would do in that position and how far you would go to save your own life.
"Paranormal Activity" was released in 2009, and it scared audiences so much that it became one of the most popular movies of the year. It's a good movie for Halloween because it keeps you on the edge of your seat. However, "Paranormal Activity" creeps into your consciousness and mind, not because you are scared about what the characters are going to do, you are scared about what you can’t see. When doors slam shut, you jump. When Katie, the main character, starts talking, walking and behaving funny, you wonder what is going on and the anticipation of what is going to happen next is almost as scary as what actually happens.
