Instructions

    • 1

Go to a movie ticketing site. Two popular sites are MovieTickets.com and Fandango.

    • 2

Enter your location. On the front page of the movie ticketing site is a box where you can enter your zip code. Type it in, and press enter. A list of local theaters will come up.

    • 3

Choose the theater you prefer by clicking on it. A list of movies playing and show times at that theater will come up.

    • 4

Choose a movie and time. Look through the list, and find a movie you want to see. When you find one, click one of the times next to it to select that time.

    • 5

Choose your quantity. A new page will come up asking you to choose how many tickets you want to buy. Select your number and press "Continue."

    • 6

Enter your credit card information. On MovieTickets.com, you will first need to create an account before entering in credit card information. Here, the site will ask you for your name, date of birth, and e-mail address. Then you will be taken to the credit card information page. On both MovieTickets.com and Fandango, the process here is the same: Enter your credit card information and press "Continue."

    • 7

Review your purchase. This new page will have all the information you have inputted so far. Confirm your purchase.

    • 8

Review your confirmation page. This has all the details you need in terms of where to pick up and when you need to show up. It will tell you whether you need to bring your credit card, bring a confirmation number, or print out your tickets on your computer.

    • 9

Print your tickets. This step is only necessary for theaters that offer the "print at home" service. Print out your confirmation page by clicking "File" in your browser then "Print." Bring this with you when you go to the theater. If you don't have a printer, your confirmation page will always list another option for picking up your tickets.

    • 10

Check your e-mail. A receipt from the transaction will be sent to you. Save this for your records.

    • 11

Follow the instructions from your confirmation to pick up your tickets. With a printed ticket, you can go straight to the ticket taker. Otherwise, you will need to present either your confirmation number, credit card, or both at a box office or self-service kiosk.
