Measure the room you want the projector installed in with a tape measure. Measure the wall height and length and compare these dimensions to the screen's dimensions. If the screen's dimensions are within 1 foot of the wall's dimensions, you may want to consider ordering a new screen. Take a measurement of the door height and width to make sure the screen will fit through door.
Sketch the screen's actual size on the wall using a pencil and level. Step back from the wall and examine how comfortably the screen will fit. Ideally, you want the bottom of the screen at least 30 inches above the floor.
Read through the installation manual. The projector screen system will contain what's called a "floating mounted bracket system." This system allows you to mount the screen to the wood ceiling frame using mounting brackets. Consult the installation manual for the section about inserting mounting brackets into the ceiling. Cut two holes in the ceiling using a utility knife in the size and shape that the manual recommends.
Drill holes into the wood frame above the drywall using a power drill. The manual will specify how many holes, the size, and the placement. Move the mounting brackets over the holes and insert the anchor bolts. Tighten the bolts using a crescent wrench until the brackets feel secure.
Identify the electric circuit you'll be using for the screen motor. Shut off all power to this circuit using the building's electrical breaker.
Find the electric wiring above the ceiling near the projector screen. Cut this wiring with pliers and attach an electric splitter by tying the old wires to the splitter's wires.
Connect your new electric wiring between the motor and the splitter by tying together their wires. Tape over all new wire crossings with electrical tape. Turn the room's electrical circuit back on with the building's circuit breaker
Turn on the video projector. Insert a DVD or VHS tape into a media player connected to the projector. Press play and observe the picture alignment. If the alignment is slightly off, navigate the projector menu until you find the Lens Shift. Look for four directional buttons on the bottom of the projector. Use these buttons to move the lens around until the picture sits perfectly on the screen.
