Turn on the TV and DIRECTV receiver. Press “Menu” on the DIRECTV remote control to display the menu options. Use the arrow buttons on the remote to highlight “Search for Shows.” Press “Select.”
Select “Keyword” from the “Search for Shows” menu.
Use the arrow and “Select” buttons on the remote control to spell out “the” in the keyword space. It’s very likely that the word “the” will appear somewhere in most program descriptions.
Select “Continue.” Select “Movies.” Select “Horror” to conduct a search for all horror movies containing the word “the” in the program description.
Scroll through the list of horror movies scheduled to air over the next few days to see if any classic Halloween movies are scheduled.
Turn on the TV and Comcast box. Press “Menu” on the Comcast remote to display the Quick Menu options. Use the arrow buttons on the remote to highlight the "Search" icon (looks like a magnifying glass). Press “OK / Select.”
Select “Title Search”
Use the arrow and “OK / Select” buttons on the remote control to spell out the title of what you deem to be a classic Halloween movie. If the movie is scheduled to air on any of the Comcast cable channels over the next few days it will appear in the search results.
Highlight and select the movie listing in the search results to see when it’s scheduled to air and on what channel.

Set the guide to the location for your local broadcast area and select the television provider you’re using (for example, local broadcast TV, RCN cable, Dish Network, and so forth). There should be a link somewhere on the page that allows you to adjust this setting.
Conduct a search for the title of the classic horror movie you would like to see. If the movie is scheduled to air in your broadcast area, with the provider you selected, within the next few days, the movie listing will appear in the search results.
