How to Watch Netflix on HDTV and PC

Netflix makes watching movies and TV programs relatively effortless by instantly streaming the shows over the Internet to your PC and your HDTV. Once you have a subscription to Netflix's service, log on to the site, log in to your account, make your viewing selection and begin watching your show on your PC. If you'd rather view your selection on your HDTV, simply log in to your account via your Internet-connected HDTV.

Instructions

  1. On Your PC

      Go to Netflix.com to create an account. Netflix may offer a free trial period to start. Complete the registration fields to create your account and select your service plan to start your trial period or begin your regular service.

      Log in to your Netflix account.

      Click on the "Watch Instantly" tab.

      Select the movie or TV show you want to watch and click "Play" to begin viewing your selection. You can also add it to your Instant Queue if you want to save it for later.

    On Your HDTV

      Follow the instructions outlined in Section 1 to create a Netflix account using your PC.

      Connect to your broadband Internet to your HDTV. Internet-connected TVs differ, so the steps to connect will vary. Consult your HDTV's owner manual, if needed.

      Navigate to the Netflix service using your TV's built-in Internet browser to log in and activate your account.

      Select the movie or TV show you want to watch to begin viewing your selection on your HDTV.
