Silverstone was born in 1976 in San Francisco, California and began her acting career in commercials at age six. She had a couple of prominent roles before "Clueless," including Aerosmith music videos. After "Clueless," she went on to play Batgirl in "Batman and Robin."
Stacey Dash plays Cher's best friend Dionne. Dionne is a firecracker and always says what's on her mind while Cher is more calculated. She's always having conflicts with her boyfriend, Murray. Dash was born in Bronx, New York in 1966 and made several guest appearances in TV shows such as "The Cosby Show" and "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air." Her big film break was "Clueless" and she went on to star in the short-lived TV spin-off on the UPN network.
Brittany Murphy plays Tai, the tough alternative girl who Cher decides to mold in her image. But, in some ways, this backfires. Brittany Murphy was born in 1977 in Georgia but was raised in New Jersey. She started in the theater as a child and young teen before moving to California to pursue television acting. Her breakthrough role was in "Clueless." She went on to do many films and the voice of Luanne in "King of The Hill." She passed away in 2009 from a combination of pneumonia and drug intoxication.
Paul Rudd plays Cher's ex-step brother Josh in "Clueless." He is the epitome of '90s intellectual college cool. He wears dark clothes, reads books, watches the news and listens to sad music. Despite being different from her, Cher likes him. Rudd was born in 1969 and raised in Kansas. He studied acting in Los Angeles and at Oxford University. "Clueless" was his first major film role.
