Cinderella, the protagonist, is the only child of a widowed aristocrat. She is a very caring girl in her late teens. Her two stepsisters, Anastasia and Drizella, envy her beauty. Cinderella was voiced by Ilene Woods.
The Fairy Godmother appears after the stepsisters depart for the ball. She transforms Jaq and Gus (Cinderella's mice friends) into horses, a pumpkin into a carriage and Cinderella's torn clothes into a beautiful dress with glass slippers. She then warns Cinderella that the spell will end at midnight. She is voiced by Verna Felton.
Prince Charming, Cinderella's love interest, does not wish to marry, so his father holds a ball and invites all the eligible women in the kingdom so that he might find a suitor. This is how he meets and falls in love with Cinderella. He is voiced by William Phipps.
Anastasia and Drizella Tremaine are Cinderella's stepsisters. They are ugly, spiteful, cruel, clumsy and jealous of Cinderella's beauty. Drizella is voiced by Rhoda Williams and Anastasia by Lucille Bliss.
Lady Tremaine is the main antagonist in the film. She is Cinderella's stepmother, and after Cinderella's father passes away, she reveals herself to be cruel, sadistic and envious of Cinderella's beauty, just like her daughters. She is voiced by Eleanor Audley.
Jaq and Gus are mice and, after Cinderella rescues them from the stepsisters' cat Lucifer, they become faithful friends of hers. They are both voiced by Jimmy MacDonald.
