Get all your photos together and put them in the order you prefer. If the photos are all digital files, create a new folder, copy the photos over and rename them as numbers corresponding to their order as you put them in the new folder.
Scan your hard copy photos using a photo scanner and save each photo file as the number corresponding to the order; this will make organizing them on your work bar much simpler. Transfer all your photos and files to the computer or external hard drive where you will be saving the video files.
Open your video editing program and import the photo files into a file you name "Photos." Lay the photos down on the video track in order. Then separate the files onto two tracks, the first photo on the top track, then the second photo on the bottom track so that their ends meet. Drag and drop a cross fade transition on each end of every photo.
Move the photos together so the ending transition of the first photo overlaps with the starting transition cross fade of the second photo and so on. Repeat for all the photos. Start with the first photo and set the movement settings. Make it move either in to out (zoom in to zoom out) or vice versa. Have the second photo do the opposite. Repeat this pattern with all the photos.
Lay down the music tracks and set any musical transitions necessary. Render the video and save the file. Then export it and burn the video file to DVD using a DVD editing program.
