Get a generator or some heavy-duty extension cords. A movie production tent will be full of electrical equipment, so you will need to have several power outlets. If you are not near any outlets, purchase a small generator. Otherwise, use some extension cords to get power to your movie production tent.
Assemble tables. You will need at least two sturdy tables for your equipment and another to serve as a desk or general table.
Purchase or rent monitors. You will need at least two monitors. These can be either color or black and white monitors. Check with the movie director for the preferred type. Look for these at specialty camera shops or movie production shops.
Get noise-reduction, high quality headphones for each monitor. You may want to buy a headphone splitter and put two sets of headphones at each monitor.
Set up computers. If the film is shooting in digital, your director may need computers in the production tent for editing purposes. Some directors who shoot on digital do a little editing on-site to make sure they are getting what they need from the actors. Check with the director to make sure you are getting the correct computers with the appropriate software.
Make several copies of the script. When people step into the movie production tent, it is usually to see how the filming is progressing. If there is a live feed on one of the monitors, there should be script copies to reference.
Regulate the temperature in your movie production tent. Depending on the season and the location, you will need either a portable heater or an air conditioner or fan. The unit will have information stating what size room it is made for, so be sure you know what size your movie production tent is going to be.
