What Is a DVD Slim Set?

A DVD slim set is a newer way of packaging DVDs. Television series were previously packaged as DVDs in a larger and bulkier fashion.
  1. Function and Features

    • DVD slim sets consist of a case that holds slim DVD sleeves. Slim sets hold the same number of DVDs as a regular set but are in a smaller and slimmer package.

    Examples

    • Several television shows are packaged in a DVD slim set format. Examples of these DVDs include: "Angel - Season Two" (Slim Set), "The X-Files - First Season" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."

    Benefits

    • DVD slim sets are more cost efficient to produce than traditional DVD sets and take up less space in a DVD case or shelf.
