Why did Harry Houdini become a magician?

There is no historical evidence suggesting Harry Houdini became a magician because of his mother's death. While Houdini's mother did pass away when he was young, his interest in magic started much earlier. Houdini was fascinated by magic tricks from a young age and began performing them for friends and family. He idolized the famous escape artist Harry Kellar and was inspired to pursue a career in magic as a teenager.
