Perform a simple one arm tumble trick. The hat falls down the arm making a good beginner's trick to show friends. Put a bowler or top hat on your head, and hold your right arm out straight in front of you. Look down your arm. Meanwhile, place your left hand at the back of your neck, and then swipe it upward to knock the hat off your head. As you do this, lean your head forward slightly so the hat drops onto your arm and tumbles down your arm.
This is a more difficult hat trick, but with practice it can be mastered. Essentially, the hat rolls from arm to arm, across your body. First hold the outer brim of the bowler hat in your right hand. Now, flick it along the brim onto your arm. Use your arm to balance it as it rotates along its brim. Angle your arm upward, so gravity assists in pulling it down your arm, across your body and then down your left arm. Finish the trick by catching it in your left hand.
If you don't have a bowler hat, there are plenty of tricks you can do with a baseball cap. Perform a simple trick by placing the baseball cap on your index finger, and then spinning the cap. Practice moving with the hat so the spin is fluid. Take it to the next level by pushing it upward with your finger. Then, duck underneath the cap so it lands neatly on your head.
The baseball cap flick can be easily practiced anywhere. Hold the peak of the baseball cap so that the cap is upright, and your wrist is facing upward. Then, flick the cap towards you. Let it go and as it rotates 180 degrees. Catch it momentarily on the underside of your wrist and bounce it upward so it turns back over, ready to catch at the peak again. Once you can do this, add more force with your wrist when you bounce it upward. By doing so, you can continuously rotate it back and forth 180 degrees.
