Can the Hulk control his powers?

In Marvel comics, the Hulk's powers are often depicted as being uncontrollable. The Hulk is typically portrayed as a destructive force that can cause significant damage to persons, property and the environment, which is why the character has been a long time member of the Avengers, in order to help control (and sometimes amplify) his powers for good instead of evil.

As the Hulk's alter ego, Bruce Banner, struggles to control his emotions, so does the Hulk: when Banner is angry or stressed, the Hulk becomes less controlled and more destructive. As Banner comes to terms with the Hulk and learns to manage his emotions better, so too does the Hulk become more controllable and capable of being an agent for good.

As the comics have gone on, a number of different versions of the Hulk have appeared, each with different levels of control over their powers.

However, it is important to note that the Hulk's powers are never truly under Banner's control. Even when Banner is in full control of himself, the Hulk can still be unpredictable and dangerous.
