What is chain snatching?

Chain snatching involves forcibly and suddenly pulling or tugging on a gold chain (or other jewellery adorning the neck) worn by an unsuspecting individual. This crime is frequently perpetrated on busy streets, in public spaces, or in poorly lit areas with the intention of stealing the precious jewellery.
