How do get the fishing rod in FireRed?

You get the fishing rod in FireRed by talking to the Old Fisherman in Oldale Town. He's located in the house to the left of the Pokémon Center.

Here's how to find him:

1. Beat the first gym leader in Petalburg City.

2. Head north from Petalburg City and follow the road. You'll pass through a patch of tall grass and encounter some trainers.

3. Keep following the road until you reach Oldale Town. It's a small town with a Pokémon Center and a few houses.

4. Enter the house to the left of the Pokémon Center. The Old Fisherman will be inside.

5. Talk to him and he'll give you the Old Rod.

Note: You can only get the Old Rod before you enter the next town, Slateport City. Once you enter Slateport City, the Old Fisherman will have left Oldale Town.
