In the Saw horror film series why does Jigsaw make a trap that could kill him?

In the Saw series, Jigsaw (John Kramer) doesn't design traps that could kill him. The games are designed to be psychological and physical torture with a high chance of survival, but not death.

Here's why Jigsaw's traps are not designed to kill him:

* Jigsaw's Philosophy: He believes his games teach people the value of life and push them to appreciate what they have. If his traps were fatal, it would contradict his philosophy of "life is a gift, and death is a choice".

* Control and Manipulation: Jigsaw wants to be in control. He meticulously sets up his traps to inflict specific pain and force his victims to confront their flaws. If his traps could kill him, it would take away his control and the chance to play his twisted game.

* The "Game" Continues: Jigsaw's legacy is built on his games. He wants his followers to continue his work and spread his twisted message. If he died, his influence would diminish.

However, there are instances in the films where Jigsaw's traps could potentially harm him, but these are often unintentional.

For example, in Saw III, Jigsaw suffers a serious injury during one of his traps. However, this is a result of his deteriorating health and a miscalculation, not an intentional act.

Ultimately, Jigsaw's goal is not to kill, but to manipulate, teach, and punish. His traps are carefully designed to deliver pain and force his victims to confront their flaws. While they are undoubtedly dangerous, Jigsaw ensures that they are not designed to end his life.
