Ingredients:
- 4 large egg whites
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
Step1: Preheat oven to 200 degrees F (93 degrees C).
Step 2: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 3: In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, beat the egg whites on high speed until they form stiff peaks.
Step 4: Gradually add the sugar, one tablespoon at a time, until the meringue is thick and glossy.
Step 5: Beat in the vanilla extract and salt until just combined.
Step 6: Spoon the meringue onto the prepared baking sheet, forming 12 (2-inch) mounds.
Step 7: Bake the meringues for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, or until they are dry and crisp to the touch.
