Why was rowley able to beat gregs twisted wizard game in dairy of a wimpy kid dog days?

In the book "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days," Rowley was not able to beat Greg's twisted wizard game. It was Fregley who was able to beat the game before Greg did.
