What is the theme of chapter 16 in Lightning thief?

In Chapter 16 of the novel "The Lightning Thief" titled "I Plunge to my Death (and come Back Much, Much Worse), Percy realizes he might still be dreaming at Lotus Hotel and Casino. With that thought in mind, he dives off the casino roof only to discover it wasn't a dream at all.
