At the end of the Hunger Games trilogy, Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark are the victors of the 74th Hunger Games. However, their victory comes at a price, as they are forced to become pawns in a political power struggle between the Capitol and the rebel districts. Katniss is particularly targeted by President Snow, who sees her as a threat to his power.
As the rebellion gains momentum, Katniss and Peeta are recruited to become the faces of the rebellion. They travel to District 13, which has become the headquarters of the rebellion, and begin to prepare for war. Katniss must overcome her trauma and learn to trust others in order to become a true leader of the rebellion.
