When did Rubeus Hagrid first appear in Harry Potter and the Stone?

Rubeus Hagrid first appears in Chapter 1, "The Boy Who Lived" of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. He is introduced when he delivers the news of Harry's acceptance to Hogwarts to the Dursleys.
