The best in this kind are but shadows is?

"The best in this kind are but shadows" is a quote from William Shakespeare's play "Macbeth". It is spoken by the character Macbeth after he has killed King Duncan. Macbeth is reflecting on the futility of his actions and the fact that all of his efforts to gain power have been in vain. He realizes that even if he achieves all of his goals, he will still be nothing more than a shadow of his former self.

The quote can also be interpreted more generally to mean that the best things in life are often fleeting and impermanent. We may strive for wealth, power, or fame, but these things will ultimately never satisfy us. The only thing that can truly bring us happiness is to live our lives according to our own values and to make the most of the time we have.
