Make your trick cards. The difference between this and the other version is that Copperfield uses cards with double-stick tape to allow him to make a card truly disappear.
Place a strip of double-stick tape onto three aces (all but spades) from another deck. Place these aces, face up, on top of a face down deck.
Go through the deck and remove the three trick aces. Place them face up in a row of three.
Remove the Ace of Spades and place it in front of the other three. Place the regular aces face down on top of the Ace of Spades.
Remove three cards and place them underneath the Ace of Clubs. Repeat this for the Ace of Hearts and Ace of Diamonds.
Right now, you should have the Ace of Spades in front, with three mystery cards (the real aces) on top. You should also have the trick aces with three random cards underneath each.
Take the Ace of Clubs, Hearts and Diamonds, and place them underneath each of their own piles. Make a magic motion and reveal that each column of four is now only three. The double-stick tape will cause each Ace to stick to whatever card it was placed underneath.
With the aces missing, turn over the three mystery cards atop the Ace of Spades and reveal them to be the missing Aces.
