Sakura Kinamoto is the main protagonist of the anime and manga series Cardcaptor Sakura. She is a 10-year-old elementary school student who lives in the fictional town of Tomoeda, Japan. One day, she accidentally releases the magical Clow Cards, which have the power to grant wishes, from their sealed book and must capture the escaped cards before they cause trouble. As the series progresses, Sakura befriends the cards' guardians and learns more about her relationship with them. She also develops a romantic relationship with her classmate Syaoran Li. Sakura is a kind, compassionate, and determined girl and she possesses magical abilities that allow her to capture and control the cards. She is often called the "Mikado maiden" because of her role as the Cardcaptor.
