  1. How to Combine Swing Dancing Moves

    • 1

Begin dancing using the 'Starter Step' position. This is basically a quick 1&2 steps to the right, then 3&4 steps back to the left, all while facing your partner. You may do this step a time or two, or go directly to the next move.

    • 2

Perform the 'Basic Push' step. This is a quick 1&2 steps to the right, then push away from your partner with your left hand and at the same time, on count 3, turn your body away from your partner slightly, and shift your body weight to the left foot. On beat 4, turn your body back toward your partner and be ready to do the same step in the opposite direction.

    • 3

Perform the Starter Step position again one or two times.

    • 4

Add in the 'Underarm Pass' move. Begin facing your partner, holding on with only your right hand. You will be crossing under his right arm and passing him on to your left. On the count of 1, step forward with your right food. On 2, step forward with your left foot. Now you should be very close to his arm. To go underneath, take a passing triple step to the count of 3&4 beginning with your right foot, and end on 4 with your right foot back. Take another triple step as an anchor on 5&6 starting and ending on your left foot.

Combine these three steps in a variety of ways and you will have your swing dance moves coming together in no time. You can also add in small kicks or rock steps to mix it up as well.
