P-Square, formerly known as Double P, originated from Anambra state, which is in the southeastern part of Nigeria. The duo started doing music in St. Peter’s College in the year 1999, where they spent much of their formative years. Paul and Peter were part of a group called "MMMB" (an abbreviation of Most Mysterious Men of Music Business).
In 2001, they joined forces with their elder brother Jude Engees Okoye to become P-Square. Their talent was spotted during a school function where they performed. Then known as Double P, they were eventually signed by Timbuk2 Music Label in 2001 and released their first album "Last Nite".
Paul Okoye was born on November 18th 1981 in Jos, Plateau State. Peter Okoye, born on November 18th, 1981 in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria is the twin brother to Paul. The Okoye twins were born into a family of 6 children.
They are two of the biggest celebrities to ever emerge from Nigeria’s music industry. Although they separated in September 2017 the duo are recognized not just in Nigeria but on the continent and worldwide.
With four albums, a reality TV show and a plethora of awards both locally and internationally, P-Square holds an enviable position in the pantheon of Nigerian music.
In 2016, Forbes estimated their net worth at $20 million, they were reportedly making $150,000 per show at that time.
Following many issues regarding their career, the duo finally fell out in 2017 on issues pertaining to their personal and financial dealings, which was followed by a solo career from both brothers.
