Who created salsa?

There is no single individual who can be credited with creating salsa. The dish has likely undergone various iterations and influences throughout history. The term "salsa" itself comes from the Spanish word for sauce and can refer to a wide range of sauces and condiments in Latin American cuisine. The development of modern salsa as we know it today is attributed to the fusion of ingredients, techniques, and flavors from different cultures, particularly in Mexico and the American Southwest.
