How to Make Spanish Dresses

Creating a Spanish dress can be a challenging task. Known for their bright colors and flowing skirts, Spanish dresses are unique and flamboyant. Spanish garb often flaunts black, red and white, and is frequently worn for flamenco dancing. For added effect when wearing your finished Spanish dress, slick back your hair into a tight bun and pin a red rose to the side of the bun.

Instructions

    • 1

Make a loosely fitted white peasant blouse. You should follow a pattern for this -- it will be easy to find a basic pattern for a peasant blouse at a local fabric store. Create a blouse that has 3/4 length gathered sleeves and an off-the-shoulder gathered neckline.

    • 2

Add a border of loose knit lace to the neckline of the dress.

    • 3

Buy or make a floor-length or calf-length flamenco skirt. A typical flamenco skirt is made of a bright, shiny color with two thick ruffles at the base of the skirt.

    • 4

Use a long strip of the flamenco skirt material. Cut a piece of material about the length of a scarf with a 6-inch width. Finish the edges of the material and drape over arms as a shawl.
