Shift your weight to the left side of your body. This means that your body weight will largely be supported by your left leg. Your right leg should be free to move around.
Step your right foot to the right to begin the Jazz dance six step. Then cross the left foot over the right foot and step to the right with the right foot again. So far, you've completed half of the six step or one grapevine to the right.
Cross the left foot behind the right foot and then step to the right again. These are the fourth and fifth steps. Complete the move by stepping the left foot in, so that it touches the right foot. Your body weight should now be shifted to the right side of the body. Reverse each of the six steps to shift the body weight back over to the left side of the body. This is known as a transition move and should be part of a jazz dancer's movement vocabulary.
