Chuck Brown (August 22, 1936 – May 16, 2012) was an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist who pioneered go-go music, a subgenre of funk that originated in Washington, D.C., in the 1970s.
Considered as the “Godfather of Go-Go”, Brown recorded more than 50 albums and had multiple hits such as "Bustin' Loose" (1979) and "We Need Some Money" (1984).
