Learn to pole dance. You will not learn pole dancing in an instructor certification program; you will learn how to effectively teach others, so you should already know how to perform what you want to teach.
Find a pole dance instructor certification program. Check with local gyms and dance studios. Even if they do not offer a program, they might know where you will be able to find one. If you have a pole dancing teacher, ask him or her to recommend a program.
Talk to the professionals who run the pole dance instructor certification programs you are interested in. Find out how much experience they have in the field and how much time they have spent teaching. Tour the facilities where you will be learning if possible.
Ask questions and know what you're getting. Pole dance instructor certification programs are not regulated by any government agencies; instead, they are run by for-profit companies and more closely resemble certificate programs. While some offer worthwhile training, some might be out to sell you a piece of paper that won't aid you in finding a job or increasing your credibility as an instructor.
Inquire about price and payment plans. Some programs offer several different levels of certification, so make sure you receive information that pertains to all of the levels you are interested in teaching.
Sign up for the classes, workshops and other events that you'll complete for the certification program. Complete each one.
Pass any necessary exams. Some programs will require you to pass an exam before you are awarded the certification. This exam could be practical, written or oral.
