Open your Internet browser. Go to a music site like Rhapsody or iTunes to download the "Do the Hustle" song. Once you have it, you will be able to practice whenever you want.
Listen to the song to get a sense of the tempo. The Hustle is done in counts of four. Count out loud "1-2-3-4" to the beat of the song.
Take four steps backward for the first four beats. Follow that up with four steps forward on the next four beats to complete the first two counts of four.
Take four steps to the right while spinning in a clockwise circle for the next four beats. Repeat this move by taking four steps to the left while spinning in a counterclockwise circle. This completes the next two sets of four beats.
Spread your legs and move your hips back and forth while pointing your arm up and down on a diagonal line (mimicking John Travolta's famous dance from "Saturday Night Fever). This move takes eight beats, or the next two sets of four beats.
Roll your arms in front of you for the next two beats. Place your hands on your belt, bend your arms and move your arms back and forth (like a chicken) for two more beats to complete a set of four beats.
Take one step forward, one step backward, one step sideways to the left and do a 1/4 turn to the left to finish the last set of four beats. Begin the dance again at this point by taking four steps backward.
