Start with right foot in front of the left, with the big toe of the right foot angled diagonally to the right, very similar to the fifth position in ballet.
Keeping the right foot in front of the left, step to the right with the right foot and quickly bring the left foot behind it to meet it. Add a bounce to the step by stepping up to the toe of the right foot when you step to the right, and bending your back left leg into a plié when you bring it right to meet it.
Travel to the right four steps, then raise the right foot up, keeping it slightly bent at the knee and placing it behind you. Raise up onto the ball of your left foot when the right foot is raised in the air, then plié or bounce-step in place twice with the right foot behind you.
Repeat this combination with the left foot. Raise the left foot up, keeping the leg bent, while rising to the ball of your right foot. Place the left foot behind you and step-bounce twice. Repeat raising the right foot again.
Travel to the left as you did with the right. You should have ended the previous combination with the left foot in front of the right. Step the left foot to the side, raising up to the ball of the left foot, and bring the right foot behind it to meet it, pliéing or bouncing it slightly each time you step on the right. Travel four of these steps to the left. Repeat the knee-raising sequence of steps three and four.
