Break dance, also called breakdancing, b-boying, and b-girling, is a street dance style that has its roots in the African-American and Latino cultures of the South Bronx in New York City. It involves athletic and acrobatic moves that are performed on the ground or on elevated surfaces. The dance form features four basic elements: toprock, downrock, power moves, and freezes.
