- Use a hair dryer. Heat the tape with a hair dryer until it loosens, then carefully peel it off. Be careful not to overheat the tape or damage the door.
- Use a credit card. Insert a credit card or similar plastic object between the tape and the door. Gently slide the card back and forth until the tape starts to peel off.
- Use acetone. Apply a small amount of acetone nail polish remover to the tape and let it sit for a few minutes. The acetone will dissolve the adhesive on the tape, making it easier to peel off.
- Wait until the staff leaves. If you can, wait until the hotel staff leaves to take their break or change shifts. This will give you a window of opportunity to sneak out without being seen.
Once you have successfully removed the tape, be sure to close the door quietly and leave promptly. If you are planning on returning later, consider asking a friend or family member to let you back in so you don't have to sneak out again.
