How to Donate New Ballet Shoes

Children all over the world dream of dancing ballet, but the cost of equipment and uniforms are often more than their families can afford. A donated pair of new ballet shoes can be the missing piece that allows a child to train in dance when she otherwise wouldn’t be able to. Many dance studios take direct donations, either for a particular child or for organizations like “One World Running” that send dance and athletic gear all over the world.

      Locate a local ballet studio where you want to donate ballet shoes. You may intend your donation to be for a specific student, for the studio in general or for a larger organization that accepts donations through the studio.

      Call the studio and ask about their donation options. Most studios will take personal donations, but not all studios work with national organizations. If the studio does not support the organization you want to donate to, contact a different studio.

      Tell the studio manager or dance instructor how you want your donation handled and where you want it to go.

      Deliver the new ballet shoes to the studio.
