How to Submit Poems to the New Yorker

The New Yorker is a long-established, weekly magazine for educated and informed readers. The publication accepts only two submissions per writer per year. However, up to six poems may be included per submission. Works must be original and unpublished; and it is recommended that they are lively and not overly literate. There are three ways to submit poetry to The New Yorker. They are listed below in the magazine's order of preference.

      Submit your poetry via www.NewYorker.com's "Contact Us" form. Upload your poem(s) as one attached document file in Acrobat (.PDF) format. Use your full name, as entered on the submission form, as the file's title. Include all of your contact information in the attached file.

      Email your poem(s) as one attached .PDF file to [email protected]. Use your name as the email's subject and the file's title. Include all of your contact information in both the body of your email and the attached file.

      Mail your poetry, along with a stamped, self-addressed return envelope, to:

      Include all of your contact information on each poetry submission. A cover letter is not required.
