What does Abigail value in The Crucible?
In The Crucible, Abigail Williams values power and attention. She is seen as manipulative and willing to use witchcraft accusations to gain control over others and get what she wants. Abigail also desires material possessions, such as her uncle’s land, that she tries to obtain through her accusations and by seducing John Proctor. Additionally, Abigail has feelings for John Proctor which also drive her decisions and behaviors throughout the play.
