How to Get Featured in the National Enquirer

The National Enquirer, the supermarket tabloid that pre-dated today's gossip blogs and bulletin boards, has been through various incarnations since it's inception in 1926. It's famous for featuring sordid celebrity tales, unusual personal interest stories and medical oddity articles. While some celebrities have sued the papers, others can't wait to get featured in the Enquirer.

Instructions

    • 1

Call or email the Enquirer with a scoop, or have a friend do it. If you have a personal interest story, such as surviving a horrific accident or even a tacky encounter with a celebrity, they may want your story featured. Get the contact information from the tabloid's masthead or their website (see Resources below).

    • 2

Hang out in Hollywood. If you're seen with or around celebrities like Britney Spears and Paris Hilton, the Enquirer might contact you for the scoop on your celebrity friends. Remember that once you've spilled the celebrities' innermost secrets to the mag, you may not be in their good graces anymore, so take the money and run.

    • 3

Hit the reality TV circuit. Even if you can't sing or dance, if you can get a featured role on a reality show, you'll probably find yourself in the National Enquirer, especially of you're a controversial or bratty contestant.

    • 4

Get embroiled in a national scandal. Have an affair with a married politician, get kidnapped, or live in an alleged murderer's guest house. Reporting an alien abduction is always a winner. If its wacky, controversial or tragic, you'll find yourself featured in the Enquirer.

    • 5

Sleep with a celebrity, or become one yourself. By finally realizing your acting, singing or groupie dreams, you'll have a good chance of getting in the National Enquirer. How prominently you're featured depends on the degree of your fame, naughtiness and notoriety.
