Is cold a good way to describe Darry Curtis in the book outsiders?

Darry Curtis is not described as cold in The Outsiders. He is often seen as a warm and caring character who takes responsibility for his siblings and tries to keep them safe. He is also protective of Ponyboy and the other greasers, and is always willing to fight for them if necessary.
