What did king laius and queen jocasta learned?

Laius and Jocasta, the king and queen of Thebes in Greek mythology, learned that they could not escape the prophecy that their son would kill Laius and marry Jocasta. Despite attempting to prevent this fate by abandoning their son, Oedipus, he was found and raised by a shepherd. As Oedipus grew older, he unknowingly fulfilled the prophecy by killing his father and marrying his mother. This tragic end taught Laius and Jocasta that destiny cannot be avoided and that one should accept their fate, no matter how difficult it may be.
